Winton House - Lifestyle
Located in the Hampshire Village of Nether Wallop, with its thatched cottages and quintessentially English appeal, Winton House is also ideally located to explore the beautiful surrounding countryside and a wealth of local history. Stockbridge, with its traditional Hampshire ‘broad street’, offering restaurants, tearooms, shops and a popular butcher, is a short, four mile drive to the west.
Rooms are fully carpeted and furnished with central heating, telephone and TV points plus 24-hour careline connection to domestic staff and nursing assistance. Domestic support ensures that all the household chores are taken care of, allowing you to enjoy fully the parkland surroundings.
As at all sites operated by the Amesbury Abbey Group, whilst all rooms are comfortably furnished, residents are invited to bring their own furniture if they so wish.
Breakfast is brought to your room each morning. Waiting staff serve principal meals in the dining room overlooking the grounds and sweeping gardens and wine may be taken with your meal. If you prefer a little privacy on occasion, or are feeling under the weather, arrangements can be made so that you can also enjoy your main meal in the comfort of your own room.
Mealtimes are always an occasion at Winton House, particularly our regular themed and gala celebrations. These popular events including Marquees on the lawns, Summer BBQ's and gala dinners to celebrate special events, all carefully crafted and arranged by our chef and Catering Manager James Hoare.
Winton House has been owned and operated by Mary Cornelius-Reid and her family for 40 years. As such, we pride ourselves on being able to offer those little touches that make everyone feel truly special.
For example, unlike most corporately owned establishments, residents are most welcome to furnish their own rooms; the results are often stunning. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement and personal touches, like birthday cards and thoughtful gifts at Christmas, help ensure everyone feels part of the family.
Guests are also welcome at the Nursing Home, either to join us for luncheon or simply enjoy our delightful grounds with loved ones.
An activities schedule is also available for all to enjoy, more of which can be seen via this link.
