A fantastic time was had by all this October at our recent "Best of British" lunch, taking place in a suitably "suited and booted" Amesbury Abbey.
Things got off to a spiffing start with martini cocktails, shaken, not stirred of course, before everyone was tucking in to traditional fare.
Revellers faced the difficult choice between quintessentially British fish 'n' chips, with pickled onions and gherkins on the side, I’ll have you know, or a rib tickling Lancashire hot pot with caramelised red cabbage. A scrumptious selection of cakes and pastries followed for those having left sufficient room, all washed down with a selection of seasonal ales and ciders.
